Principally we can offer marine cargo insurance for any type of cargo. We specialize in tailor-made packages for commodity traders and offer a ‘one stop’ program for all required insurances. We also offer a comprehensive cover for shipments of fresh and frozen cargoes in refrigerated vessels. We will not participate in the mainstream and wholesale (subscription)markets, as it drives us too far away from managing the client relation with our in-house services.

A standard cargo insurance will cover the physical losses. At RaetsMarine we will also provide coverage for various liabilities: Charterers’ Liability, Cargo Owners’ Liability and Liabilities for General Average contributions. Additionally we can offer a comprehensive cover against legal costs resulting from claims/disputes the Assured may have with his contractors.

We understand the chartering and shipowning business, which means we can give valuable advices about loss prevention and legal advices about Charter Parties and Bills of Lading. Also in the handling of claims we believe that we can provide our clients with an excellent in house service and protect the client’s position in claims which are recoverable from parties who have caused the damage, which will benefit the client’s loss record and create a competitive edge on the pricing levels of the cargo insurance.
